Aerobic training in football: general or "dry" work methods
Today's post features a video featuring various general training methods, also known as "dry" exercises. It's important to reiterate how crucial this training method is to developing a soccer player's performance. Regardless of the evolution of methodologies, which increasingly focus on integrated organic work with the ball, this type of exercise continues to play a vital role.
In the video I have included some exercises that can be developed in the field by proposing different types of work:
Intermittent (in line and shuttle) , for this reason it is important to first perform a test that allows us to investigate the VAM of our athletes so as to be able to correctly set times and distances based on our objective.
Fartlek is a training method that involves continuous running sections, allowing us to set distances covered at different intensities or speeds.
Role-specific metabolic circuits therefore mixing dry running activities but following the activities that the footballer performs based on his position on the pitch.
General metabolic circuits specific to football , which include a series of activities such as changes of direction, jumps, accelerations and decelerations combined with running activities at different intensities.
Earlier, we touched on the debate over which training methodology is more effective for player development: general activities or integrated ball-based activities. In the next video, we'll analyze the pros and cons of these two methodologies.
